Yes Chicago comes alive in the summer but there is something beautiful about this city when it starts to get cold. It’s that time of the year again––whether you’ve lived here for years or you’re planning your first winter visit to the Windy City–– I wanted to share a few new ideas for fun winter activities!

Here are a few of my favorite things to do, see, and places to eat/ drink in the city:

  1. Take a picture in front of the “The Bean”

  2. Ice skating in Millennium Park

  3. Have a cocktail and enjoy the view at Cindy’s on their outdoor patio

  4. Coffee break at Sawada Matcha or Ipsento to help keep you warm while you walk around.

  5. Be amazed at Lincoln Park ZooLights Festival.

  6. Afternoon tea at the Soho House

  7. Enjoy a glass of wine or cocktails in this gorgeous restaurant and cafe, with a garden/ terrace. Maybe you’ll walk out with a new piece of furniture.

  8. Shopping down Michigan Avenue (leave the credit cards at home, lol)

  9. Pick up a couple donuts at The Donut Vault (get there early)

  10. One word, CHEESEBURGER- if you find yourself in the West Loop make sure to stop by Au Cheval.
